Governor Phil Bredesen presented a proclamation designating the week of December 7 – 11 as Employee Learning Week in Tennesse to the Middle Tennessee ASTD.  Sponsored by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Employee Learning Week is a nationwide awareness initiative that encourages organizations to recognize the value of learning and to acknowledge the important link between a highly-skilled workforce and organizational success.  “We are delighted that Governor Bredesen is encouraging organizations throughout Tennessee to demonstrate a commitment to develop a highly skilled workforce,” said Toby Cannon, president of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (MT-ASTD). “Businesses that understand the connection between employee learning and organizational performance are critical to Tennessee’s economic health.”
