Meet Deborah Harrell

Deborah was most recently employed with Comcast Cable as a Learning and Development Manager.  She managed all training activities for Middle Tennessee (technical, customer service, leadership, and sales) for 1300 employees, including designing, developing, and delivering leadership training.  Deborah most recently worked on blended learning for technician's 'Smart Houses' that allowed techs to receive immediate feedback in their learning processes and a coaching program for supervisors to coach to desired behaviors rather than managing to numbers.  She also recently completed Circle Facilitator training through CABLE. "Circles are growing a process of helping businesses and personal groups engage in deeper, more thoughtful and insightful communication."

Deborah's professional interests include leadership development; creating an integrity-based work environment; facilitating growth in leaders--assisting them in defining their values and providing leadership that develops others; diversity and inclusion.  Her personal interests indclude: reading; animals - “love 'em all”; arts and crafts; music; Firekeepers' Circle groups - “deeper levels of communication”; NASCAR – “yes, really!” 

When asked what she hopes to get out of her membership with ASTD, Deborah responded, “Learn from others in the field; share what I have learned in my 20+ years in L&D; new friendships and relationships; increase my network and help others grow theirs; a job! (I recently became unemployed after a reduction in staff).”
