Meet Sharon Cox

Learn more about this consultant with over 20 years experience who specializes in leadership development and horizontal integration in organizations.

Sharon is a nurse and  the principal consultant with Cox and Associates, specializing in leadership development and horizonal integration in organizations (predominantly healthcare) for the last 22 years.  She's co-authored two books, A Toolkit for Nurse Managers and Nature's Wisdom in the Workplace, which uses the principles of Chinese Medicine applied to organizations. This material was written for those doing OD work and the model has incredible validity after 4000 years!

Sharon has recently cut her travel back to about 1/3 time now to finish her third book about culture change and shifting from parent to partner as we work in organizations. The first part of the book is about changing management styles, the next phase is changing how we handle discipline and  the last part will be abolishing performance appraisals as they are currently being done.

Outside of her work, Sharon loves to fly fish and play golf with her husband. She's also a camera bug. Sharon serves on the Board of Directors for Harvest Hands Community Development Corporation based in South Nashville, which is focused on revitalizing the neighborhood around the fairgrounds. This organization has an aferschool program, sports teams, two kid-run micro-businesses (coffee roasting and handmande soaps) and now moving in to affordable housing projects.

Sharon is enjoying one of the more interesting times in her life as she transitions from a national network of freinds to building a local network, from speaking to writing more, and from going full tilt to finding the joys of a slower pace. She loves the opportunities that keep showing up for mentoring and exploring things that she's been putting off for years..like learning Tai Chi.

This transition has landed her at MT ASTD.  She's found a group of like minded people that she can learn from and be of service to..afer years of seeing emails about meetings she could not attend because of travel, she's delighted to just be at the meetings now.

Thanks for being a part, Sharon!  You can find out more about her and her work at http://www.esharoncox.com.
