Jennifer Coleman Kern
Meet the Director of Learning and Development for the Oreck Corporation
Jennifer is the
Director of Learning and Development for the Oreck Corporation. She and
her team are responsible for supporting all lines of Retail and most
lines of
business across the company with Learning and Development
recommendations and
sourcing. Field Instructors, Instructional Designers and a Coordinator
make up
the L&D Team. The Team handles training for current and new product
roll
out, e-learning systems, employee recognition, core values and
department
process roll outs through partnership with Line of Business managers.
When asked about her
hobbies, Jennifer said:
"I
love to paint in bright, bold colors. Acrylic and watercolors on canvas,
wood,
furniture and anything that might be interesting to paint. Abstracts in a
type
of pointillism style are my most common, but I also have been attempting
landscapes and primitive types of art."
Outside of work, Jennifer is fortunate to have a terrific family - a
wonderful
husband name Tom and beautiful godchildren/nieces and
nephews.
Jennifer's
background is in retail and she has been fortunate to work with GREAT
people.
With her team, she's focused on personal/professional goals, company
objectives
and the team. Her transition from sales to L&D was a natural fit and
is an
absolute pleasure everyday. She also has no doubt she works for the best
company in the world!!!
Jennifer is a member
of MT-ASTD because she enjoys networking and sharing ideas with like
minded people
who are experts in the L&D field. She feels the speakers and classes
are
excellent and helpful. Jennifer also use the Linkedin group as a
support
tool to get ideas!
