Interest Groups
Focus groups for our members.
In addition to our monthly chapter meetings and other learning and networking events, ASTD Middle Tennessee offers a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to our members. For more information, read below and contact the associated board member. If you're interested in creating a SIG inside of ASTD Middle Tennessee, contact our president, Toby Cannon.
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) SIG
The CPLP SIG will be launching October for those folks who are thinking of taking the CPLP exam in spring 2010. We will be organizing a study group and provide information and feedback for the work product submission. We will meet monthly beginning in September through the end of 2009 and then will meet every other week beginning in January. For more information, contact the SIG leader Carolyn Rowe.
Organizational Development (OD) SIG
The OD-SIG serves as a community of practice. This SIG provides networking, education, and service opportunities for Middle Tennessee OD professionals under the umbrella of Middle Tennessee ASTD. Each meeting consists of a leading-edge best practice, shared issues and group discussion of solutions. Meetings are held at Lee Hecht Harrison, 750 Old Hickory Blvd, Brentwood, TN. The group meets on the 1st Monday of every other month (2010 - February, April, June, August, October) from 5:30-7:00pm. For more information, contact Elmo Shade or Deb Tobey.
Transitions SIG
Rather than developing our own smaller SIG focused on transitions, ASTD Middle Tennessee recommends that members visit the Middle Tennesse Socienty for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Career Transition Team meeting. For more information on this group, visit the MTSHRM website by clicking here.
