Chapter Volunteers
Learning, Connecting, Giving
Volunteering is the best way to get to know and network with other members. Volunteering is the first step in becoming a board member. Each of the committees and their responsibilities are outlined below. ASTD Members have the opportunity to volunteer for a variety of community and chapter service projects. To volunteer, mark your area of interest on your profile by logging in, then clicking here, or email erin.evans@affiniongroup.com. To fill out the Volunteer Profile form, click here.
Marketing & Communications
Volunteers help with producing the monthly newsletter, developing membership surveys, making media contact to promote the chapter and meetings, and the development of chapter marketing collateral.
Membership
Volunteers are needed to recruit new members, manage membership drives, conduct new member orientation, and maintain the membership database. The membership committee also needs volunteers to assist with registration at meetings. Volunteers are needed to be mentors to new members. As a mentor you will be assigned one new member to welcome to the group, help introduce to other members at events, and encourage meeting attendance via phone, mail or email.
Programs
Program committee volunteers will be involved in program and location selection, developing meeting announcements, evaluation of meetings, and arranging for meeting refreshments, speaker thank you gifts, etc.
Community Service
Volunteers are needed to help the chapter connect and partner with public service organizations. Volunteer activities within this program are centered around special events and include promotion and participation in those events. The community service committee is a great way to get involved in project work.
